The advent calendar for bag makers...
Day 19 is a tool you will reach for again and again. Today you will find a Legami “No Probllama” heat erasable pen, and if you have not used one before, this is about to become a firm favourite in your sewing kit.
Heat erasable pens are especially useful in bag making because they let you mark with confidence. You can draw placement lines for pockets, zips and hardware, mark seam allowances, or sketch quilting lines directly onto your fabric.
When the project is finished, the markings disappear with heat from an iron or even a blast from a hairdryer. No rubbing, no residue and no panic if you marked in the wrong place.
This is particularly helpful when working with faux leather or waterproof canvas where traditional chalk can be hard to see or rub off too quickly. A clear line helps with accuracy, which leads to cleaner stitching and a more professional finish overall.
The other big benefit is speed. Being able to mark, sew and then erase in one smooth flow keeps your momentum going. It removes that hesitation many sewists feel when they are worried about permanent marks showing on the final bag.
And of course, there is the fun factor. The little “No problama” character adds a bit of personality to your toolkit and makes an everyday tool feel like a treat rather than a basic supply.
I included Legume pens in the very first advent calendar in 2022 and it is now become quite popular with bag makers. There are so many really cute designs it was hard to choose which one for this box, but the rainbow stripes go so well with the rainbow stripes on the different elements in this box I felt this had to be the one!
A small word of warning – marks can come back in the cold, So it is always recommended that you test any heat erasable pens first before committing to it on a project.

Curious as to what the rest of the box looks like and don’t want to wait? You can watch the full unboxing below…
