Frequently Asked Questions For The Bag Making Challenge:
What are we sewing?
A brand new beginner friendly pattern! The 7t7 Tote! It’s the one in the pictures on this page. It has a top zipper closure and 3 slip pockets – two on the outside and one on the inside.Â
When is the challenge?
The challenge is held live over a week from Monday to the following Monday. This challenge is going to be 15th September to 22nd September 2025.Â
It’s completely online. All tutorials are live and the replay is available for you to catch up.
I see you're in the UK, Can I join from another country?
Of course! We have participants from all over the world. You are most welcome no matter which country you are based in. The lives are filmed at 11am UK time. If you can’t make that time, you are able to watch afterwards in your own time for a week after the live – with an option to keep access for longer if you want to.Â
Where is the challenge held?
The challenge has live tutorials held over 4 days within a special pop up facebook group. All of the challenge is held within Facebook with communication via email.Â
Don’t worry if you can’t join the lives though, you can watch them in your own time whenever you like. They stay up in the facebook group for a week after the last live and there is an option to keep access for longer after – more on that during the challenge.Â
Do I have to be on Facebook?
Yes, I’m afraid you do. All the videos are recorded live within the facebook group. Why? Facebook love it or hate it is very well set up for these kinds of challenges. There has been many who have actually joined facebook just for the challenge!Â
I've never made a bag before - is this for me?
Yes! Every pattern in the challenge is beginner friendly. This bag isn’t a small project but please don’t let that put you off!
I go through lots of tips and tricks and you will have a lot of support from others in the challenge – what have you got to loose?
I've made a lot of bags before - is this for me?
Yes! We often have very experienced bag makers in the challenges! We welcome all abilities.

I did the last challenge and learnt so much – now I’m addicted! I was going to just watch this one as I have a new sewing machine I’m still getting to grips with but I’ve decided to go give it a go and dive in so can’t wait!

Will fabric and other requirements be published before the challenge begins?
Hi Pat, im just replying in retrospect for future folks to have info also – yes all the materials needed are sent via email just before the challenge
