The advent calendar for bag makers...
Day 9 brings a gorgeous hit of colour. Today you will find a length of 1.5 inch purple, blue and pink striped webbing, designed to coordinate perfectly with the 1 inch webbing revealed earlier in the calendar.
The wider width instantly gives your bags a bolder, more intentional look. It is ideal for crossbody straps, tote handles or any project where you want comfort and strength without sacrificing style.
The stripes on this webbing is actually the same print as on the faux leather in day 5, which means you can start creating a cohesive colour story across your makes without even trying.
One of the reasons I wanted to include both widths is versatility. Sometimes a bag needs a slim accent strap. Sometimes it needs a chunkier, statement strap that feels soft on the shoulder and holds its shape. Having both options in matching colours gives you room to play and experiment, especially if you enjoy mixing materials or adding contrast to simple patterns.
It is also a great way to refresh an older bag pattern you love. Swapping to a wider, colourful strap can completely change the look of a bag without altering the construction at all. Small upgrades like this build confidence and help you discover your own style as a maker.
